He was promoted to the rank of colonel for his combat services, epitomizing unwavering determination in the face of war, was promoted to brigadier general on the eve of the outbreak of the second Russian-Chechen war, and eventually found hope in the United States.
About Author
Lemi Misirbiev was born on August 5, 1959, in the village of Nizhny Gerzel. He personally experienced the pain and suffering of the Chechen people in the cauldron of the rotten, inhuman system of the USSR and modern Russia. During the Russian-Chechen wars, he was a commander of the militia’s RDB. For his combat services he was awarded the Order of Hero of the Chechen People and was promoted to the rank of colonel. He headed the administration of the Society of Veterans of the Battle of Kizlyar-Pervomaysk. By the beginning of the second Russian-Chechen war he was promoted to the rank of brigadier general. Since 2009 he has been living in the USA.
